ROTARY

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Over the years many different Rotary clubs have participated in many home build with Project Mercy.

Rotary Build December 4th, 2021

When Jeb Bakke, Rotary District 5340 international chair, with help from Kim Muslusky and Mike Fuqua, approached District Rotary Governor Dan Gensler with the idea of a special district-wide build in Mexico, Dan enthusiastically promoted this amazing and special event.

On December 4th, 2021 and with help from Fernanda Torres, they pulled together a Mexican outreach build in a small and poor neighborhood of Trebol, half way between east Tijuana and Tecate.

Two Districts, Rotary District 4100 from Mexico and Rotary District 5340 from Southern California were involved. There were a total of nineteen Californian clubs, four Mexican clubs, four Rotaract clubs and the La Jolla High School Interact club, that built homes for seven lucky families.

Project Mercy and the families of Trebol, Mexico, are forever indebted to these clubs and their generosity. We hope they will form new teams to return and build again in 2022. Gracias amigos!
