This past weekend on October 25, the Buckley and Nelson families and friends got together to build two houses for a couple of very appreciative families in Mexico. Long time team leaders, Chris and Fritz led the build. That was the day the Urias Tirado and Mapula Romero families had their dreams of a new home come true.
While they and the volunteers were hammering away, Hannah Nelson took the two beaming ladies of the houses to a local store. Brenda and Hermelinda were delighted, and a little overwhelmed, to have a spending spree for their new homes.
At the same time, a few hundred yards away, Mike Meziere worked with members and volunteers of Incarnation Lutheran Church of Poway to build a third home for the Espinoza Lugo family of five.
What a fantastic day, three new houses for three very needy families. Soon we will build more houses for their neighbors. It is a wonderful feeling to provide secure homes for needy people, and to see the depths of their gratitude. Together we are making a difference.
