November 20th is the anniversary of the start of the 1910 – 1917 Mexican Revolution. In Mexico the date is observed on the third Monday in November of each year providing a long weekend holiday. Revolution Day is not just a historical remembrance; it serves as a celebration of the ideals of freedom, equality, and justice of the Mexican people.
At our school in Tijuana the teachers and parents organized a fiesta in celebration. The entire community was invited and included traditional foods such as pozole and deserts along with games, dancing, speeches and more. Adults and children all dressed up in period costumes! It was a great day to relax and enjoy with everyone. You can see the happiness and joy in the pictures below.
