On Thursday we were at the new school in the San Nicholas colonia in eastern Tijuana. It was a big day for celebration for two reasons. Birthdays for two students were celebrated, and student Manuel is the first student to pass the state middle school exam at the school. The school day was cut short with a fiesta with pozole cooked by three of the moms, cupcakes, stuffed animals, a pinata and a new bike for Manuel. At the end of the day a table of donated clothes, toys and shoes was available for the moms to obtain free items for their family members. Another good day south of the border.

El jueves estuvimos en la nueva escuela de la colonia San Nicolás en el este de Tijuana. Fue un gran día de celebración por dos motivos. Se celebraron los cumpleaños de dos estudiantes, y el estudiante Manuel es el primer estudiante en aprobar el examen estatal de secundaria en la escuela. El día escolar se interrumpió con una fiesta con pozole cocinado por tres de las mamás, pastelitos, peluches, una piñata y una bicicleta nueva para Manuel. Al final del día se puso a disposición de las mamás una mesa de ropa, juguetes y zapatos donados para obtener artículos gratis para sus familiares. Otro buen día al sur de la frontera.
