In the middle of the rains and just before the border closed due to the COVID-19 virus, single mother Miranda, her grandma and children received a new house on March 16.

Before receiving their new house, their old roof leaked and the rotting walls of their shack had gaping holes leaving them no-where to keep safe and dry. With donated money and a great Mexican work crew Project Mercy Baja built them a new home. Grandma Christina Martina Martinez cried in delight “Thank you and God Bless you all for giving us a chance to have a better life and for keeping us safe in a house where the rain cannot get in and where we can live without fear. It is a blessing and a dream come true.”

There may be difficult times ahead but Project Mercy Baja will continue to help these poorest of families attain the most basic of needs, that of adequate shelter.
